Victor Urrego-Vallowe, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received a Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University receiving an additional Certificate in Gerontological Social Work.

I have eleven years of experience as a social worker with a focus on mental health therapy. During that time, I’ve worked for Veterans’ Affairs and at a federally qualified healthcare center/community clinic that specializes in working with people living with HIV/AIDS. I work with adolescents and adults.

A few of my specific diverse populations I have experience working with are:

 * Aging community

 * LGBTQ+

 *  Active/Retired Military/Veterans

 * Caregivers of People Living with Dementia

 * ADHD

I am focused on healing from trauma. I have extensive experience helping people with depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, insomnia and other sleep issues, and ADHD.

I believe no single approach is the right one for every person. Because of that, I have experience with a number of styles that I have found to be helpful.

Approaches include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (for depression, anger, anxiety, and trauma)

  • Attachment Focused - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Mindfulness for Stress Reduction

  • Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts

  • ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) Trauma Treatment

  • Grief/Loss Treatment

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia

My own personal mantra to continue lifelong learning. Which is why each year I explore and begin new trainings and certifications to expand my horizon, so I can provide each individual a personal therapy plan that fits your needs.

For 2023, I will be beginning training in a Certificate of Completion for Art Expressive Therapy for Trauma.
